I wrote this in 2007 on a rainy day a few hours before I had to go to work. I didn't want to continue my dreary boring routine, but I didn't have the confidence to change. I felt like I couldn't do anything right. This song was kind of like an internal dialogue between myself and the fleeting promises of hope.
lyrics
Just take me away
I don't feel I have to stay anymore
What's in the wind touched by the sky?
I never stopped to think
Wonder what for?
Do you believe at all?
Don't you understand why that day I left?
You're like a splinter in my heart because you look so pretty
Everything I touch turns to ash
One day we'll live in a diamond city when all this cold will pass
Please don't walk by
I know I've made mistakes
It's all over now
I know I've tried and come up so short
Life changes somehow
You're all I have
And I'm so grateful for everything
You're like a splinter in my heart because you look so pretty
Everything I touch turns to ash
One day we'll live in a diamond city when all this cold will pass
