My Love is probably the weirdest song I've ever recorded. It's about a guy who burned down a city and wants a girl he's obsessed over to choose him or die. The song itself is ugly and scrapped together with a lot of malice, and I like it that way. The idea of doing something beautiful like dancing with your love but in the aftermath of an inferno really charged a bizarre idea in my head that, while odd, is interesting.
lyrics
What I've done is save the world from
A waste of breath entrenched among the dead
So strike a match and let's dance in the ash
Or if you're scared I'll just leave you there
To burn like the rest of this town I confess
My love
So turn and run, you're missing half the fun
A madman with a gun, I die a true American
So if you're gone out of your mind
Just pick the colors of your life
If it's the banner that you're craving
It's your salvation that is saved
Or if you're scared I'll just leave you there
My love
