about

Ghosts & Honesty is sort of a give and take between 4 songs. There's a doty verse, a dark chorus, and echos of both Far & Away and Rise mixed in there. It's kind of a jaggedly woven audio tapestry to taper off this section of the record. The lyrics were inspired from the multiple people trying to tell me how to interpret my feelings after I was so crushed, and then my internal dialogue with myself. "Ghosts & Honesty" derived from being haunted by my pain and sadness while trying to keep a straightforward outlook on what good could come from my predicament.

lyrics

It's enough to make you sick
It's just life down in the pit
It's a shame but so you know I'm here and you're not alone

Carry on and break all this pain
Let the demons work through your brain
Sleep it off and start a new day by your side and here I'll stay

Ghosts and honesty
Can't set me quite right
So I take the blame
And give up the fight
Cause you're killing me
Murdering my life
Cold anxiety on a winter's night

Nights inside holding your hand
Everything's going as planned
Feeling the touch of your kiss like cyanide, poisonous

Toxicate suffer the gloom
She alone darkens the room
A dying flower that never bloomed poison petals gone, consumed

Ghosts and honesty
Can't set me quite right
So I take the blame
And give up the fight
Cause you're killing me
Murdering my life
Cold anxiety on a winter's night
