about
"Hurricanes" is about coping with the heartbreak of the divorce in the months after the shit all went down. Basically all this pain and sadness isn't like a tornado that comes in quickly, destroys all your shit and leaves, it's a hurricane - a slow moving storm that drenches you in despair and requires months to clean up. Ultimately though, there is a better day ahead and THAT is what "Hurricanes" is all about in the end.
lyrics
Just get in, shut the door
Fifteen hours, never more
Can't look up, pain & love
Like she doesn't give a fuck
She can't see it working out
Poison spilling out her mouth
Burning holes into me as the snow is falling down on these
Hurricane winds
Carry shuriken eyes
Sharpens my hate
Consuming this life
She did it to me
She made up her mind
Got out of this place
And left me behind
Why can't I breathe?
Why can't I fight?
Why can't I see what I can do
To set all of these fallen wrongs right
It so easily
Broke here tonight
No melody can fix her running
Away to start a new life
Pen in hand, sign the page
Suck it up, act your age
It doesn't matter anyway
You gotta tell em you're to blame
Walk away, hit the floor
Punch a wall, no remose
Fuck these letters, burn them all
The fire's sending smoke into the
Hurricane winds
Carry shuriken eyes
Sharpens my hate
Consuming this life
She did it to me
She made up her mind
Got out of this place
And left me behind
Stand and fight
Winter's gone
You've got your life
So just hold on
Stand and fight
There's nothing wrong
You made it through
Hold on to me
Grab my hand
And we will see
The sun will rise
You made it through
I'm holding on to you
