about
I was curious as to how I could get away with this. Pachebel's Canon is such an overused standard that it's tiresome, and to get it out of the way that this isn't anything original, I totally ripped off the graduation song for the initial verse. The whole idea was that Remorse is kind of just a guitar and me, somewhat stripped down. It works.
lyrics
As I go on
I remember
How my life changed
Last December
When you left me
For whoever
Thinking we won't
Stay together
Here's a song I
Wrote in august
About your well being
And your promise
I cannot wish you well
Because the leaves all died
As if they could somehow tell
My heart was breaking
My hands were shaking
Nights of drinking myself to sleep
Sweating oceans of pure anxieties
What I had a done
Did I kill this love
Now I know you are gone
And I admit I've mostly moved on
But you should know
I've got to let you know
Take this to your grave
The love you threw away
So this it, now you're gone
Everything we had was wrong
It was flawed, and I hope that where you are
You've got a life and it's nice
I can't lie, fixed it on your second try
So goodbye and I hope you get it right
